Healthy Child Monitoring
Healthy child follow-up is an important health service that ensures regular monitoring of children's growth and development processes and early detection of possible health problems. Within the scope of this follow-up, children's physical, mental and social development is evaluated at regular intervals, the immune system is supported and families are informed about child health. Since childhood is a critical period in terms of health and development, regular control and monitoring is of great importance in this process.
- Monitoring Growth and Development: Children's growth indicators such as height, weight and head circumference are monitored according to age and gender appropriate development standards. These measurements are recorded on growth curves and the child's development process is monitored, and possible growth retardation or excessive weight gain is recognised at an early stage and necessary measures are taken.
- Developmental Evaluation: Children's motor, language, social and cognitive skills are evaluated according to age-appropriate developmental stages. Developmental delays or any developmental problems are detected at an early stage and necessary interventions are provided.
- Nutrition Monitoring: Healthy nutrition is one of the most important factors in the growth and development of children. In this process, suggestions are made to provide families with healthy eating habits and to ensure that children receive the vitamins and minerals they need. In addition, recommendations are given for adequate and balanced nutrition according to age groups.
- Psychosocial and Behavioural Development: Social, emotional and behavioural development processes of children are also monitored during healthy child follow-up. Sleep patterns, behavioural habits and social interaction skills are evaluated. The family is guided for their children to have a healthy psychosocial development process.
- Dental Health and Hygiene: Oral and dental health of children is important for general health. Especially starting from the teething period, dental health is evaluated and hygiene habits are gained. In this context, children are taught appropriate tooth brushing techniques and are provided with the necessary recommendations for healthy tooth development.
Healthy child follow-up enables early diagnosis of children's health problems and the provision of preventive health services. Thus, children are supported to have a healthy growth and development process, while possible health problems are recognised and intervened in advance. It also raises awareness of families about child health, involves them in the development process of their children and facilitates their access to the health services they need.
Healthy child follow-up is a process that should be carried out regularly from birth to adolescence, and these follow-ups aim to ensure that children continue their lives as healthy adults. Regular follow-up in all these areas of child health contributes to children's participation in society as healthier individuals in the future.
